In developing countries like Nepal, society is deeply founded in patriarchy by giving more priority to men over women. Coming from a Nepalese family, Ayusha Dallakoti has personally seen men receiving more opportunities than women.
The Homewares range Dhaka, looks at breaking this barrier and provide women with opportunities to do something for themselves. This is done by producing products by working with women in rural parts of Nepal.
All Dhaka products will look at acknowledging traditional Nepalese techniques such as natural dye and weaving, mixed with screen-printing (a new technique) so that artisans are able to expand their skill level.
