Through rendering surreal introspective paintings and designs, David Ramsden seeks to illuminate the emotive qualities of light and dark inside spaces both real and psychological

This year’s work has focused on themes of reflective place.

The series is an exploration in finding that intangible place where the veil between the self and its surroundings is non-existent: places called home, places that, through our experiences, have become fused with us. These paintings track reflections inside windows from one evening, each work chronicling this reflective space at different stages of appearing and disappearing as they pass through the night.
