Threading through Alexandra Mitchell’s practice is a focus on the use of found objects. Carefully she repurposes objects into work that connects them through their most basic qualities - colour, texture and shape. Music and the disembodied instrument are major features of her work, alluding to sound without its presence. Reflective of mood, Alexandra’s work acts as a portrait of the moment it was made, taking in its surroundings in vertical and horizontal planes.
