Kevin Croll’s practice explores the concept of identity and place investigating how we interact with, see, understand and relate to ubiquitous utilitarian objects that share our space. So accustomed to the presence of utilitarian objects we begin to disregard or take them for granted. They remain invisible whilst in plain sight. These objects are assigned a particular task, role or function. By exploring how these roles and functions come into being, how we accept or disregard them, we can consider how we physically and emotionally on micro, macro, external and internal levels, relate to the objects encountered in our everyday lives.
