Lorna MacRitchie’s practice explores the idea of emotional nesting; focusing on personal experience, memory and the processes of creating and destroying relationships. The term ‘emotional nesting’ alludes to the sense of home, comfort and belonging one emotionally obtains from relationships with others. Lorna is fascinated by our ability to create homes and places that aren’t tangible or physical constructions, but instead made up of memories, shared experience, trust and deep emotional connections. This collection of lithographs represents such a process: creation, destruction and reclamation.
