The underlying theme in Manon Anderiesen’s artistic practice is the issue of trauma using microbiological images of scar tissue as a metaphor. Her recent experience with trauma has led her to become very interested in how the physiological and bodily experience of healing can be represented within these cellular structures. Manon sees this work as an opportunity for catharsis; a way of excavating and cleansing aspects of her emotional landscape.
