Allyse Miskle depicts her personal connection with the surrounding environment through sculpture and etching. Focusing on recurring images within her environment, Allyse’s artworks are connected through subject, geography and personal connection. With nature as a collaborator in materials such as stained buried paper and construction, the varied components are connected through light. Allyse has used artificial light with a warm filter for the sculptures to represent nature; in contrast the Perspex etchings are lit with an artificial white light. Despite their differences the two lights cast shadows that interact and represent her connection to the environment.
