Gaye Brodie’s paintings are abstracted landscapes that focus on the natural environment. A natural pallet, whilst echoing the Australian bush, also suggests notions of tranquility and quiet. Gaye lives next to a bushland reserve and her recent works have been inspired by time spent in this beautiful area. Through her paintings, Gaye wishes to link reality and consciousness and by this process elicit a meditative and peaceful state. She hopes to convey ideas that lie beyond the easy understanding and simple references frames of our experience.
