Inspired by the dissatisfaction towards her surroundings, Ingrid Martinez became intrigued with alternative realities, in particular, utopias, which offer a glimpse of a world that is different and better than the world we currently live in.
Abstractionism eliminates all traces of the world as it is, and thus, enables us to imagine an alternate, more colourful and brighter place. By employing abstract geometric forms, Some-Place explores the metaphysical and spiritual layers of the utopian ideal.
Some-Place is a whimsical and psychedelic world that creates a counter-world to the here and now.
