Sophia Karris’ work explores ideas of pattern, form, repetition and culture through a variety of mediums including, analogue photography, found photographs and stitching on slides. Creating patterns and seeking out existing patterns within everyday interior settings is where Sophia took inspiration. She is interested in the way these are formed and how they function through repetition and the passing of time. The use of different photographic mediums aims to capture and create a relationship between permanent, existing and temporal elements found in the work.
