Rupture
2014
Graphics/ Performance

This is NOT a dance. It is the coexistence between graphics, sound and movement in building rhythmic tension. The tension between the graphics and audio energizes the performers to represent a set of ideas through the body. The notion of a ceasefire becomes the catalyst, expressing the tension that builds and the pauses of uncertainty that loom. Performers embody three conditions of a ceasefire, as distinguished by the unique audio tracks and accompanying graphics.
While the media exposes us to confronting images everyday, it isn’t until a human element physically disrupts a public space (through performance) that a rupture occurs.
