Colour is essential to Thomas Miles’s practice. By combining sources of colour from a variety of non-traditional art materials he aims to create spatial aesthetic experiences. Whilst a harmonious visual marriage is the aim of Thomas’s work, he also hopes to highlight each individual material in its complexity and uniqueness. Thomas’s practice follows an organic process of creation, whereby the materials are not overworked and allowed to have an agency of their own. He hopes to share with the viewer the harmony created between disparate objects, and in doing so encourage them to explore and embrace unusual relationships and connections.
