Imagination is as personal and unique as DNA, influenced by our life experiences, mood, culture, age and exposure to media. Occasionally the visual interpretation of the written word by an artist, animator or filmmaker will resemble our own. However, no matter how close their interpretation may be to our own, there will always be slight nuances in shape, form, texture, colour and surrounds.
Madeline Moore wanted to explore imagination. She gave two descriptive texts to four people who ‘directed’ her as she drew their interpretation of the creature and local environment.
The eight graphics highlight the personal nature of imagination.
