Through the use of surrealist tactics such as isolating and re-contextualising objects from the domestic laundry, and the unexpected combination with essentialised religious architecture, this collection of works reveal hidden associations between the church and the home around the central theme of purity. Inclusions of light, scent, sound and tactile materials make reference to the multi-sensory ‘everyday’ experience of purity and cleanliness to examine the ‘real’ or tangible representations of its highly conceptualised existence.
