Marty Cordoba’s work investigates the value of the object and materiality through ideas of the everyday and permanence, questioning the possibility of the object and materiality to achieve a greater value than the status and preservation of the artwork. His research throughout his honours year has focused on the role artists have played in questioning the values placed on art materials, by testing the limits of both usability and acceptability in a range of non-art materials and methodologies. .
