Colour is a universal language. It provokes emotion, riles disaffection, placates and stirs the viewer. The subconscious plays a major part as emotions surface in a general appeal or negative response to specific hues. Meg Rauch’s practice incorporates the style of colourfield art with immersive environments that provoke emotion. The experience differs with each individual depending on personal history, preference and personality.
Process driven and cathartic, Meg’s work often begins with a distant approach, slowly becoming an emotive manifestation. This is evident in the inconsistencies that trace through her work revealing her own personal preferences and error-prone processes.
