If corporate biotechnology and genetic experimentation continue to produce life forms in the service of humans, what might this future look like? Rowena Grace is interested in questioning how emerging biotechnologies might alter our relationship with the natural world and our understanding of what it means to be human. Through her practice, and drawing on a background in biology and threatened species conservation, she imagines new life forms, birthed by technology and how these might belong in the world.
