In the context of today’s world, we are repeatedly engulfed by media reports of the impending doom awaiting the human race, whilst we battle through the vicious cycle of everyday life. But where is our escape? Perhaps it can only be found within our imagination. Nickolas Gauci’s work explores a personal escape and search for a utopian world. These ambiguous landscapes and forms emerge from the markings within the found objects and his own imagination. This immersive world provides an escape for those who enter, but as we do, it becomes apparent that we are the only humans within.
