The Penrith Museum of Printing is a Not-for-Profit organisation that houses and demonstrates a variety of restored pre-digital letterpress machines. The aims of this project were to generate:
• increased opportunities to demonstrate a ‘living, breathing’ museum, with particular emphasis on attracting graphic designers, artists and young people.
• new revenue streams to support the museum maintenance and growth
Alyse Behringer enjoys the process of Letterpress because it involves getting off the computer, hand mixing ink, cutting paper and printing with a hundred-year-old press. These works reflect the craftsmanship, care and tactility that she integrates into each of her design projects.
