Giorgia De Biasi is interested in how we deal with change and uncertainty, and our attempts to define and measure the immeasurable, adapting references from the realm of science, myth, and industrial practices.
Her work uses poles inspired by measuring rods, a hiking staff for the wayfarer, the ferryman Charon's pole to cross the Styx river, the caduceus of the Greek god Hermes.
Rites of passage and transformations are common to us all, but only within ourselves can we know when we have truly made it from one side to the other.
