Last is about a re-imagination of the traditional elements of footwear in order to create a truly long-lasting shoe. The project aims to produce a new genre of shoes that uses the underlying principles that make certain pieces classic. This new footwear will offer what appears to me to have been missing – a shoe which is well made from durable materials, and combines a youthful aesthetic with one which is grounded in enduring elements of the industry. They educate the wearer about construction and use materials that age gracefully whilst maintaining structural integrity. They are shoes that will last.
