Zak Tilley’s artistic practice serves as a method to record his encounters with nature. His artworks are revealed as an irreversible process and explore notions of entropy and poverty, informed by various materials and further philosophical influences such as wabi sabi, Arte Povera and Land Art. By using organic, natural, and recycled materials, and applying them in a non-traditional textile context, Zac’s practice breaks down the dichotomy between art and life thus exploring nature and life as a perpetual process of becoming (entropic motion), that should be celebrated through a non-dependence of material wealth - 'poverty'.
