SiYing Emily He’s paintings are based on personal childhood memories and life experiences. They comment on social, political, cultural and environmental issues. The works are presented to be childlike, to express the irrationality of childishness within adulthood. The medium was chosen to represent the object in recognition of this childishness. As part of art making, the artist reconstructed visual images collected and made them into a collage.
