Hybrid explores the transgender experience and presents gender as a culturally constructed form of performativity. Referencing queer theory and Alexis’ transition from male to female, the artist aims to challenge audience assumptions that gender categories are biologically determined and reinforce the reality that gender, even sex, is fluid.
